John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum 2019 storyplot

John races through New York as his grace period draws near its conclusion, only to run into an alley and encounter one of Bowery King’s agents: Tick-Tock Man. As time runs out on him he seeks refuge in taxi but roads become gridlocked before it arrives at its destination. Only 20 minutes remain before his official ‘excommunicado’ status is official, so he decides to get out and flee; but not without giving the driver a gold coin as payment to transport his pup safely to continental. He arrives at the Library and requests a book, uncovering an unsuspecting hidden compartment containing coins, crosses, markers and an intimate photo of himself kissed by wife he kisses for good luck. Soon thereafter a large man called Ernest appears behind them on one side. He corners him by placing himself between bookshelves. John tells Ernest he still has time, but Ernest doesn’t care: no one cares a whit! Eventually they fight – with John using a book to break Ernest’s jaw and snap his neck using just five minutes left before John leaves – leaving Ernest with an extremely painful stab wound on his shoulder that necessitates visiting a physician at home; unfortunately the physician agrees but can only provide temporary stitches before stopping mid-stitch. Ernest quickly heads home; with time running out quickly before heading straight back for good. John has put out his $14 Million bounty into full effect. After stitching himself up and taking some pills, John shoots and wounds the doctor at his request to convince the High Table that they obeyed an excommunicado order. John leaves and is immediately set upon by an army of assassins – they cornered him in an antique arms shop before John used their old weapons against them, killing several in a violent series of fights using all types of antique knives! Upon leaving there he is met by even more assassins before emerging out into public street where they then chase him into horse stables where John used horse kicks against more foes to kill several more foes before leaving again only to be followed by two motorcycle-riders whom John killed on horseback! John’s bounty increases to $15 Million. When John arrives at a theater, The Director instructs him to empty his pockets and take off his belt before meeting her and offering the cross he picked up in the library as proof. They discuss John’s background – this theater was where he was raised – then she takes him behind to meet The Director who agrees to break all ties with him while branding him with the cross in return. An anonymous woman enters the Continental, handing Charon a coin that indicates she’s here as an adjudicator to meet with Winston, manager. After seeing Santino’s body and speaking to Winston about John living after spilling blood on Continental grounds, The Adjudicator informs Winston he must step down due to having allowed John live after spilling blood onto Continental grounds. She visits The Bowery King as well, informing him he must step down due to giving John weapons knowing they would be used against Continental grounds; instead laughingly dismissively dismissing The Adjudicator with laughter that cannot step off because he IS the throne! He laughs in her face saying there would be no point because then no-one would dare step down because that would mean his position would exist on its throne! John arrives in Casablanca and almost instantly is attacked by three knife-wielding enemies who kill one in battle before it’s cut short by someone informing both parties that John has received amnesty from the manager; one assassin becomes angry over this decision and attempts to attack John again but this person shoots them both down before continuing the confrontation. John and he arrive at Morocco’s Continental Hotel where John meets its manager. There, John sees photographs of a mother and daughter before two growling dogs come and sit alongside him to protect him – at which point Sofia steps out from behind a shadowy corner to shoot John in the chest with her gun. John falls to the ground but remains bullet-proof; she tells him she should kill him instead, but instead receives from John an old marker that they made together after John saved their daughter some years prior. She asks him not to present it; John insists she take him instead to visit their old boss; reluctantly she agrees. The Adjudicator arrives at a small sushi shop where Zero recognizes her coin and tells her he wasn’t expecting her so soon. Zero also knows about John and is eager to hunt him down – The Adjudicator assigns this task, along with searching out anyone involved who had assisted in John’s escape attempt. Sofia returns to John armed and concealed; she hides one of the weapons beneath one of the dog vests she owns. John assures Sofia he only wants to talk with Berrada – her former boss – though Sofia remains skeptical. Nonetheless, they arrive at a complex where Berrada met them both for meetings at which Sofia told Berrada she could join in their investigation against John’s employer, infuriated that John hadn’t brought anyone from security with them as promised. John asks Berrada to bring him before The Elder, the figure sitting above the High Table who can make amends with John for their past disagreement. Berrada doesn’t know where The Elder can be found but knows he only finds those he wants found by The Elder. John is instructed by Berrada to go into the desert, following the stars until almost death occurs – where The Elder may or may not find him.

Before they can leave however, Berrada demands a present from Sofia; she refuses him one of her dogs so Berrada shoots it instead. John warned Sofia against seeking revenge against Berrada but Sofia shot Berrada regardless, and their dog attacked his groin, prompting John to warn against shooting him back and shooting all guards who are present en route. Once all were dead Sofia shot Berrada again before shooting at him in his leg and the two made their escape, shooting their way out through complex while her dogs obeying her every command before heading towards desert for safety. At a theater performance given by her students, The Director watches as both of her guards are slowly but efficiently killed by brutal but efficient ninjas. Three men enter, disrupting the performance. Zero approaches behind and tells The Director that her agreement with the High Table prevents her from helping John; she agrees to show fealty but can no longer do so due to being penalised; Adjudicator demands she pay her penalty in blood; adjudicator orders her death while Zero runs both her hands through both her hands but leaves her alive. John and Sofia drive into the desert where John punctures his finger to sign their debt to Sofia off; she gives most of it away to her dogs before drinking down some more and spitting back out into its bottle before telling John he is going to die soon or later down the line. John walks off alone into the desert carrying Sofia’s bottle until finally, exhausted after walking through several days’ worth of dunes, collapsing – ending their adventure at last. Zero and The Adjudicator stormed the complex of Bowery King. Ninjas mercilessly murdered several guards before Zero approached Bowery King himself on his roof to offer an apology; when she told him it had already passed he became defiant; Zero offered seven cuts as punishment for giving John seven bullets that day before throwing him onto it himself before leaving him to fall to his doom. Upon seeing Zero on top, Bowery King lost control and fell off – Zero gave John seven bullets but zero did nothing more. John wakes up in a tent where The Elder informs him he has never seen someone so confused and disorientated as himself, telling him how lost he is and asking why it is he wants to remain alive; John replies it’s so that he may remember Helen; in return The Elder offers two solutions – die here or come the boogeyman back, remembering through death again or killing Winston and reverse excommunication (but only by killing Winston himself) so long as John pledges allegiance with cutting off wedding ring finger before giving it over to The Elder who accepteds his pledge by providing staff members help him prepares him to travel back out in preparation of passage back towards New York as well as new clothes from New York staff to aiding John with preparations of passage back there, while giving instructions regarding travel arrangements back into New York and also providing John new clothes from New York staff on how best prepare his passage back there before leaving and new clothes from him on arrival there and so forth until arriving back on board the ship’s staff assisted John prepares his return trip there, while staff assisted by staff help in preparations staff assisted staff assisted staff to aiding staff during passage back and provided new clothes as needed before setting sail on returning back towards New York by directing staff members to assist John to prepare him on route back onward journey back home and provided new clothes from New York city by giving staff members in help ensures needed upon arriving back into New York to assist on arrival upon return back through it all so John received new attire provided him on return voyage as promised from where ever before given him at New York upon landing by providing new staff members helped prepare staff also provided new clothes provided him. John arrives in New York and meets two assassins who have just shot two men, but are immediately taken down by some ninjas who take him directly to Zero for assistance. Zero attempts to fight John but an entire school-busload of children breaks in between and stops their fight before it could even start. John makes his escape by killing two motorcycle ninjas and seizing one himself, which sets off Zero’s assassins on him; on the freeway while driving at high-speed John kills multiple sword-wielding opponents before leading Zero closer into town, only for both to crash near The Continental Hotel. Charon takes John into a waiting room where Zero confesses how much of a fan he is; telling John they share some similarities that John does not share. John then rejoins with his dog but instructs it to sit still until Winston comes over for them both to meet face to face.

Winston and John meet in an unusual glass room that only allows visibility when one needs to observe what an opponent may be hiding under a table. Winston knows John intends to kill him and prefers having someone kill himself instead; but tells John there may be another solution available. Winston has two options open to him – either taking the bullet and selling his soul to work for the High Table forever; or fighting them and eventually dying as his wife loved. When Adjudicator arrives to see whether Winston will step aside; he refuses. She then inquires as to whether John plans on killing Winston himself. He refused, so Winston decided that she should declare the Continental dis-consecrated. From then on, business can resume on its grounds with both men acting as targets – though their targets could soon include some from the High Table as they join up shortly with some other targets joining shortly as well. Winston saw it fit to reinstate all John’s privileges under these circumstances – with guns. Lots and lots of guns. John is brought into the arms room where he learns that the High Table have upgraded their armor with stronger caliber rounds, suggesting one for Winston’s safekeeping while John, Charon and several of their loyal men fight the High Table goons who attack. Winston eventually locks himself inside an arms safe; John takes to fighting them off while Winston locks himself inside an arms safe. John learns quickly that their armor is tougher than anyone had anticipated and must get close and personal in order to stand a chance against it. Winston receives an Adjudicator phone call asking how long he believes they can keep up the defenses; before answering she abruptly disconnects. John and Charon remain alive from that first wave. John quickly gathers them back at the arms safe where Charon introduces an armor-piercing shotgun for him to use against a second wave who arrive quickly enough for John to make short work of them, using his shotgun to blast their heads clean off with ease. Later that evening, Adjudicator Winston calls and suggests parlays may help; Winston agrees. John makes his way back into the glass room. He is then attacked by two ninjas. John eventually manages to kill both using their own blade before proceeding upstairs as Zero taunted him through glass; only for Zero’s men to attack from behind! Shinobi take the upper-hand and have the opportunity to kill John but opt not to due to their respect for fighting him and their pride of having been allowed the honor of fighting him. Fighting resumes as John gets knocked down again; when struggling back up again they discuss him being out-of-shape due to recent retirement. John removes his belt to use as a weapon during an extended third round, when John tireously used kicks, kicks and ear-slaps against opponents until finally performing a devastating body slam on one that broke glass floor, sending all participants down onto lower floor floor below. John can get up while Zero can’t. So John leaves to find Zero who had gone up one more floor. Zero and John engage in an extended sword duel before John gains control by using Zero’s own “disappearing trick”. Eventually Zero loses out to this strategy used against himself by John. Zero has been injured but continues to fight until John thrust a sword through his chest and stopped. Both men sat together; Zero noted how good of a fight it had been while telling John they will catch up to each other eventually – something John didn’t believe; as soon as John left Zero slumped over onto one side dead. Winston and The Adjudicator meet up on the roof, having a parley. She informs him that this first wave will only get stronger, leading the Continental to collapse; Winston responds that his ties go deeper than this city wall – that it belongs to him! John arrives as The Adjudicator decides Winston’s show of power was nothing more than an act of loyalty; she reinstates him as manager while telling him something must be done about John; after shooting several bullets off John’s Jacket they push him backward until he hits hard on impact with ground, which makes The Adjudicator satisfied and her. As The Adjudicator departs, she decides that it would be prudent for her to check John’s body. When she returned into the Continental, she informed Winston that John Wick had left and they should avoid him coming after them; Winston agreed and whispered the name Baba Yaga in response to this advice. The Tick-Tock Man wheels a cart while John and his dog follow behind, tipping him out onto an unstable cart before tipping him onto an unstable floor in front of a makeshift throne. Sitting there drinking soda, is Bowery King. Cut up quite badly from his earlier encounters, the Bowery King asks John if he can hear him before telling John to raise three fingers to signify hearing him properly if hearing them correctly, which John raises with three of its fingers up at once before telling him so. He mentions things happen under table as being really “pissed off”, before asking John slowly raising head slowly raising and answer “Yes. Yes.” “Yeah.”
